Our Mission
We intend to promote scholarship, mentorship opportunities, and offer financial support to the Alcorn State University “Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite” Marching Band while building, maintaining, and sustaining relationships that create a legacy of giving support.
Our Vision
The SOD Club is dedicated to advancing the academic, financial, and musical endeavors of the band. We aspire to create a legacy of selfless service dedicated to the success of past, present, and future band members by operating with integrity, transparency, and professionalism.
Our Goals
- Foster an open and inclusive environment that increases collaborative efforts between alumni and the university, including student-to-alumni transition with the SOD Club and the Alcorn State University Alumni Association. In addition to, bridging the gap between alumni members from the “Band of Distinction” to the current, “Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite.”
- Develop an integrated communication plan to reach all “Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite” alumni, family, and friends.
- Lobby and fundraise on the behalf of the “Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite” to ensure that proper equipment, funding, and support is being provided to Alcorn State University Bands and their supporting auxiliary groups.
- Develop a sustainable plan to ensure the SOD Club organization remains fiscally sound and well poised for the future.
