SOD Club President
Ephram, also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, demonstrated his commitment and love for the program by volunteering to assist high school students and in-coming band members and he also provided mentorship to many of the band’s current percussionists. He carried these traits and this work ethic into his personal life, providing love and compassion to his friends, family, and associates. He was an adoring and devoted son, father, and husband who committed his life to taking care of his loved ones.
Ephram’s family, along with the SOD Club has established the Ephram Q. Bowman Percussion Scholarship in honor of our dedicated and passionate friend. This scholarship will be given each semester of each school year to a deserving member of the Alcorn State University Band Program. This scholarship will be posted and applications will be distributed to students with the help of the band directors. The scholarship will be awarded towards the end of each semester and presented by members of Ephram’s family, the SOD Club and the band director. You may mail your contribution to the SOD Club in care of: Ephram Bowman Scholarship to the address above, you may visit our website www.sodclub.org and donate or you can request a PayPal invoice by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope that you will contribute to this heartfelt endeavor. We invite you to join us in honoring Ephram in a way that reinforces his philanthropic nature. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your generosity in helping to make the Ephram Q. Bowman Percussion Scholarship a reality.
The Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite Club was saddened to learn of the sudden passing of one of its dearest members and contributors, Ephram Quencey Bowman on November 29, 2013. “Heat”, as Ephram was called, was a gifted, talented, and giving individual. His passion for music was evident in his involvement and dedication to Alcorn’s band program both as an undergraduate and as an alumnus. Ephram served as Vice President and worked tirelessly to help the SOD Club become established, respected, strong, and organized.
